Here's a super simple and super effective cleansing, detoxifying and softening face mask that is quick, easy and inexpensive. It's even ideal for daily use. Matter of fact, if you try this every day for a week, I'm betting you will see and feel a noticable difference – whether you have problem, dry, oily, mature or sensitive skin (almost sounds like a miracle cure for everything, doesn't it?). Pure Natural Toxins

Pretty Poisonous
Nature often surpasses anything we humans can conceptualize. A friend told me recently that there is an all-natural, relatively innocent-looking plant so full of toxic chemicals that it will cause extreme skin reactions, photosensivity for life and put you in the hospital if you so much as touch the sap from it. Was she kidding? I checked. She was absolutely right. Heracleum mantegazzianum is a downright dangerous slice of nature.

Clay Mask Kit

A family member had a birthday recently. She had a specific wish for a 'LisaLise face mask kit'. I didn't really make have to make anything – just buy the necessary bits and pieces and put them all together in a pretty package.

Are Parabens a Lost Cause?

Parabens have been in the doghouse for too long. It's not fair. I almost feel like carrying a protest sign around, except there's nowhere to carry it .. well, maybe right here. I fully realize I am going against the tide of the times and spouting a wildly unpopular idea but seriously – can we put some facts on the table and a bring out a little thing called common sense for just a teensy, brief moment, please??

Make-up: Duplicating a Color

The expression 'never say never' comes to mind. Unintentionally, I have kind of started doing make-up for others. It was this fabulous review of a sample of my blush that presented me with the first challenge: duplicating a color.

Skin Lightening Ingredients - Vitamin C

A new product I have been working on – Lighten Up Herbal Skin Lightener – has generated some questions about skin lightening ingredients – both what I am using as well as the ones commonly found in commercial products. There's a bit to cover, so here is the beginning of a new mini-series: all about skin lightening ingredients (and some of the unexpected bonuses they offer).

Swimming in it

In Copenhagen, scuba gear is all the rage for basement offices this summer.

As much as I love water, there is a limit. Last Saturday, Copenhagen was hit by weather – lots of it. Lighting, thunder, rain, and more rain caused flooding all over the city in proportions previously unseen – ever! Our entire office area was flooded and we were without net and (landline) phone for a few days. We are still assessing the damage and trying to make some order out of the chaos we suddenly find ourselves in.

Note to Self: Stay Away From Soap For Sensitive Skin

I haven't used any commercially made personal products for years, but made the mistake of using what was closest the other day. It was just a quick shower to rinse off the sweat after an exercise class. I forgot to bring my own stuff, so accepted an offer to borrow a bar of soap. It didn't seem too terribly scented, and I only used it under my arms – quickly. That's all.

Meet The Mask - Fresh Kiwi and Honey

They were on special – ten for something – so I bought 10 kiwis without having any plans of what to use them for. Now, I don't normally do fresh food masks, but I was inspired by a vibrant lady who recommends putting food on your face. Having a perfectly ripe skin-loving ingredient at hand prompted me to try making a fresh kiwi and honey face mask.

Skin Lightening with Plants and Vitamins - Second Update on 'B'

We have been following 2 ladies and efforts to lighten discolorations in their skin with a custom-made product that I have named Lighten Up - Herbal Skin Lightener. (See links to previous posts below). Today, we're looking at how 'B' is doing with the discolorations around her cheeks and eyes.
