Hi Lisa... I LOVE your blog! The information you share... Your testing of ingredients... I haven't found a site like yours anywhere. KUDOS!
Now, I have a query: isn't the basic nature of sodium bicarbonate (which is to say, it is a base and not an acid) harmful to our skin given the acidic nature of human skin? Thanks in advance. And, please, keep up the GREAT WORK. I so look forward to your new posts!

What a coincidence... I just wrote about my experiences with baking soda exfoliation ;)I got terrible skin problems recently, they came so suddenly and out of nowhere. I washed my face 1-2 times a day (yes, this often) about three or four days with baking soda - aloe juice mix and my problems were all gone.

Hey there Anon - well thank you indeed for your kind words! As to your question about bicarbonate soda and the pH - you are correct - the pH is not ideal for skin, which is why we are not leaving this mixture on the skin for more than a minute, and why this post has all kinds of precautionary warnings. :)

Hi Signe - how great that you have had good luck with this method. I must admit I am extremely curious to hear how your skin reacted after your potent treatment - 1-2 times a day and for several days in a row sounds pretty extreme. Was there any kind of after effect with your skin at all, or was it a 100% positive experience?

Hi, Lise! I must say that my experience was 100% positive. I haven't used any other face cream than aloe gel for about three weeks now (after that exfoliation sessions), and now I feel that I should use something more caring. But that was really amazing how quickly baking soda helped! I was kind of desperate with my skin (I never had any bad problems before, and now I didn't get any time to do anything else for that), but know I look so peaches again. :)

Hi Signe - that is great to hear! Be sure and moisturize a lot after your course of exfoliation, because with that much microdermabrasion, your skin is definitely extra thirsty. Thanks for sharing!
