Double Duty Serum - Lash-Boosting Caffeine Eyeliner

Pictured above is part of the reason I find myself working on developing mascara for the first time in my cosmetics-making career. A few months ago, I discovered this eye serum was ideal for turning any powder eyeshadow into an all-day-stay-on eyeliner.

Double Duty

Comfort Zone Eye Serum was developed in 2011 – a soothing, gel-based eye serum in a handy little roll-on bottle that has been one of my personal faves ever since the first batch. The serum contains ingredients such as aloe vera, cucumber extract, rose hydrosol and hyaluronic acid.

And then there's the caffeine. Caffeine is not only a popular skin-firming ingredient, it is also (surprisingly) good at encouraging hair growth.

Hmmm. Super gentle eye product containing hair-loving ingredient... it's really a bit of a no-brainer to use it along the lashes. I'm a little disappointed in myself for not thinking of it sooner.

How to use Comfort Zone Eye Serum as a Lash-boosting Eyeliner

Apply a small amount of serum to the back of your (clean) hand. Dip your (dedicated) eyeliner brush in the serum, then the powder shadow. You may need to go back and forth a few times between the serum and powder until you have the desired consistency. (Tip: if you need more serum, apply the extra to a different area of your hand to ensure the serum remains color-free).

When you're happy with the consistency and color (I am a color-mixing fiend and constantly trying new combos), apply as an eyeliner.

I've been using the serum this way for quite a while, and the staying power is consistent. It will even stay on through a quick swim, yet is quite easy to remove with a moist cotton round.

I am so happy to find a blog that has natural COSMETICS(especially ones that actually work)!! I already use my own homemade skin care, but I have still had to use commercial cosmetics when I want to dress up (which is close to never) Thank you so so so much for this information! Your blog is DEFINITELY going on the daily read!
