LisaLise and the Coily-Kinky-Curly Challenge

If you happen to look at my profile picture, you may think it a bit odd that I write about curls, coils and kinks. My hair is straight as a stick, easy to care for and – apart from a short bout of thinning at one point – has never really been a problem.

Nevertheless, natural curls and their well being are of great interest to me – and not just on a theoretical level.

A Whole World of Challenges

The more I have learned about the challenges of caring for curly, coily, and kinky hair, the more determined I have become to try and find some solutions to the numerous problems curlies struggle with on a daily basis.

Things Like:
  • extreme dryness
  • moisture loss
  • brittleness
  • breakage
  • hair loss
  • split ends
  • midway splits
  • frizziness
  • single strand knots
to mention just a few.

And don't even get me started on the time factor.

Nope. sorry, now I've started...

The amount of time it takes to wash, condition, and detangle curls is downright humbling. It has been impossible for me to have anything but great respect for the mandatory effort and energy it takes to manage curls.

How can a person with stick straight hair know all of these things?

Because of This Special Lady

Lola has been instrumental in kicking off and guiding my curl education. It started in the Fall of 2011 – all due to a blog post she wrote with a simple wish list. It was an eye-opener for me and launched a veritable avalanche of questions and ideas.

I needed feedback, so I wrote her.

Not only did she answer back, but her willingness to share her knowledge and experiences, help develop and test products and supply constructive feedback started our collaborated quest for curl care perfection.

The Tangible Results - cKc

Our communications resulted in the birth of the cKc series.

The first products – a shampoo and conditioner – were sent to 25 willing testers in the early summer of 2012.

We were bowled over by the outrageously positive feedback.

These products were followed up by a spray-on gloss finish moisturizer with equally fabulous reviews from testers (more to come on this VERY soon!).

As we continue to develop products, my interest in achieving curl care perfection shows no signs of slowing down.

Even though it's a lot of hard work, it's also inspiring and challenging, and the feedback Lola and I are getting is a clear indication that we're on the right track.

Where To Find cKc Right Now

At this point in time, cKc products are only available by special order right here.
