Using an Active Ingredient for Viscosity

I really love ingredients as multifunctional as this one.

Pictured: a simple way to create viscosity using nothing more than an active ingredient.

Want to know how?

Let's hit the lab!

Making Magic

The active needed for viscosity magic is hyaluronic acid in powdered form.

For a cold-mix product:
Simply add the required amount (check with your supplier) to the water portion of your formula and let stand until it is incorporated into the water.

You can also stir and then let stand - either way works.

If you're feeling adventurous, you could also add this to a hydrosol of choice, but you may see all kinds of fun things happen as each hydrosol has its own set of properties.

For a product with a heated phase:
Add the required amount (check with your supplier) to some water and let stand until it is incorporated into the water.

You can also stir and then let stand - either way works.
The mixture is added to the cool-down phase, so you will have to do a bit of calculating as to amount of water.

Have fun!
