Easy Peeling Mask

If there was a spoon instead of a brush in the cup above, this might have looked like the remains of breakfast.

In fact, it's the remains of an easy peasy peeling mask.

Today, we're going to combine chemical exfoliation with flowers, dirt, and food to freshen, tone, and nourish the skin.

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you may have already made your own flowers, dirt, and food face wash with your fave ingredients.

If that's the case, you're pretty much ready to rock and roll!

Spirulina - Going Green (And Clean)

Spirulina is fabulous. I know because I've been using it regularly as an ingredient in my morning face cleanser for about half a year.

Although mostly tested and used as a food supplement, spirulina also has a lot to offer with topical use.

Summer Skin Routine

It's the middle of summer and we all want to be outdoors, active, relaxing, or just generally doing something other than everyday drudgery.

Me too.

During summer, I actually use less time on skin pampering (not that skin pampering is drudgery!)

But during summer, quality moisturizing with less effort is desirable.

I've had a few questions from you lovely readers about my summer skin regimen, so here it is: my all-time fave summer skin regimen.

The Perfect Sunblock

It's summer. There is sun. There is need of sun protection.

If your skin is anything like mine – fair, sensitive, burns easily, doesn't tan at all – anything less than 100% protection just doesn't cut it.

I make the most lovely, silky-smooth sun lotion you can imagine.

However.

I don't use it as a sun lotion.

When Parabens Won The War

If you look at the cosmetic industry's top 10 list of most commonly used preservatives in the world, you will find 5 parabens present.

Not only that, the 5 parabens are actually among the top 6 on the list.

There are over 6 parabens used in cosmetics.

The war on parabens, it would appear, is over.

And Ethyl, Methyl, and the rest of the Paraben family members can (finally) get back to doing what they do (and maybe celebrate just a little).

Exfoliation - Chemical

Welcome to the forth in this mini-series about exfoliation. Today, we're going to look at chemical exfoliants - what they are and how they work, and we're going to learn how to do DIY chemical exfoliating.
