Thanks to you, I am now calm and collected. I can now check in to this blog knowing there will not be 'ad comments' posted hither and dither that need to be weeded out (do people even say hither and dither anymore?)

THANK YOU to everyone who voted in the poll about moderated comments - the results which you see above.  This post explains in detail why I put the poll up in the first place.

So, Here's the Deal
All comments to this blog are now going through moderation before being published. Some things haven't changed.

Royal Jelly Eye Serum - a New Product

Here's a new addition to my eye serum series that is fresh out of the lab. The idea for an eye serum with royal jelly has been 'on the drawing board' for what feels like ages (am I the only one who thinks this year has disappeared in a flash?).

I developed this product to go with the Good Night Honey cream. You've probably already picked up on the bee theme here – honey, royal jelly....

Pictured is batch one – which is being tested by myself and a couple of my regular testers. We are only a few weeks into it, but I am getting positive feedback on texture, feel, and scent.

More to come!

Cleansing Bar FAQ and Tutorial

This post is here by popular demand. Your demand. OK, you didn't actually demand, but you asked so nicely I couldn't possibly say no. Many of you have shown a huge interest, sent feedback, and asked me questions about my soap-free cleansing bars. It was about time all of the most frequently asked questions were collected into a FAQ. So here it is – just for you.

The biggie, most popular and all time most frequently asked question has a special place at the end of this post – a step by step tutorial on using a soap-free cleansing bar.

What I Learned After a Year of Doing Laundry With Soapnuts

Over a year ago, these funny-looking little 'nuts' made their way into my life. They are all natural cleansers that grow on trees. No, I'm not kidding. Soapnuts – as they are called – have a natural content of saponins (read: natural surfactants).

I got excited.

Here was an all-natural, efficient and planet-friendly solution to commercial detergents! It took me all of a nanosecond to abandon ALL of my regular laundry products and replace them with this little bag of drupes – for a full year – for everything I washed.

Coconut Oil - Five Star Nurturing Inside and Out

Cocos nucifera – we should (almost) saturate ourselves in this wonder product – inside and out – all over and all the time. Why? Because coconut oil has so much to offer that it flat out deserves a 5 star rating. It's healthy to eat, it's great for skin, and it's downright fabulous for hair. It's even reasonably priced. What's not to love?

My research on coconut oil made me fall in love with it all over again. 'Can one get giddy about a mere ingredient?' you may ask. In my world, it happens all the time.

Let's take a look at the wonders of coconut oil.

Whipped Chocolate Facial Cleansing

Louise kickstarted this. She happened to ask me about making a ready-to-use cleanser/mask product that didn't have to be made fresh with each use.

My mind immediately drifted back several years to a series of attempts that never made it out of the lab. The only answer I could give her was that I had worked on something similar forever ago but had dropped it again.

But that was then – when innocence and sweetness abounded, pollution didn't exist (yet), and the airless container was still an idea in the back of someones mind. (yeah, that long ago).

cKc - Where Are We?

I've been quiet about cKc for a while, but this is not because I'm not doing anything cKc-related. Quite the contrary actually! Lola and I have been super busy working on several cKc things.

Here's a little update.
